Former chimney sweep Barrie Neilon, who launched his oven cleaning business Ovenu Winchester just over six months ago, has received a huge vote of confidence from his clients.

Despite having had to build a customer base from scratch, the 40-year-old father of three has already attracted an amazing 109 maximum five star ratings on online review platform Trustist.

Barrie was able to quickly build his client base aided by Ovenu’s industry-leading marketing support, which includes creating an extensive online presence, together with word-of-mouth recommendations. As a result, he is now fully booked two to three weeks in advance.

He said: “It was quite daunting at first, especially taking on a brand new territory, but the positive response from clients is encouraging. I’m told it’s a real achievement to get so many positive reviews in such a short time, especially with every single one rating me a maximum five stars.

“It’s also a vote of confidence in the business. My whole premise is centred on delivering an excellent service, and it’s great to see that reflected in the feedback. Things are going extremely well, and I’ve even started to get repeat custom.

“Being part of a franchise means I receive great support, and there’s always someone on hand to offer advice and encouragement. I absolutely love being my own boss, which allows me to organise work around my family and this year I’ll even be able to attend the kids’ school sports day for the first time!”

Rik Hellewell, the founder and managing director of Ovenu, added: “Barrie is a welcome addition to our network. His diligence and commitment to delivering a quality service is reflected in these tremendous client reviews. As such, he is well on the way to establishing a successful business.”

As well as the cathedral city, Ovenu Winchester covers Cheriton, Hursley, Owslebury, Sparsholt, and surrounding areas.

The Ovenu process involves dismantling key oven components and using safe, non-caustic, and biodegradable products to clean them, leaving ovens in near showroom condition.
